|Understanding the problem||The proposal||How it works|
Our research has led us to believe that one of the major barriers for the proliferation of wind farms in the UK is public opinion.
We see there to be two main sectors of the public which oppose the implementation of wind farms: A small core of people who actively inform themselves and take part in campaigning and a NIMBY majority whose initial objection is only on aesthetic grounds, but then look towards the others for information to support their opinions.
It is this majority that our campaign aims to affect. If you remove their initial aesthetic disapproval, they won't look towards alternative sources of information to support their objections.
We believe that this initial emotional reaction can be minimised or even reversed by subtly making wind farms an integral aspect of the British countryside even an asset.
